Biofertilizer Field Trials Begin with Farmers in Mbeya

Tanzania Kwanza Technologies has launched structured field trials of its organic biofertilizer with 52 farmers in the Mbeya region, in collaboration with local agricultural extension officers.

Participating farmers are running side-by-side plots (biofertilizer, synthetic fertilizer, and blended treatments) across a full maize season, with yield, soil-health, and cost data collected throughout.

"The goal is evidence farmers can trust because they produced it themselves," said Dr. Neema Kimaro, Chief Technology Officer. "If the digestate performs the way our soil chemistry says it should, the case for circular farming makes itself."

Results will be published openly at the end of the season and will guide the formulation of the company's first commercial biofertilizer products.
